Ep. 20: Own Your Story

Life Coach for Women Over 50, Suzanne Oshima, is joined by Soul Story Coach Devorah Spilman to explore how owning your story can be the most powerful thing you ever do. They dive into why so many women hide their stories out of shame or fear, how to know when you're ready to share, and why your story can be the spark that empowers others to heal and rise.

When You Own Your Story, You Take Back Your Power

About Devorah Spilman:

Devorah Spilman—a professional storyteller, clown, puppeteer, actress, rock climber, wife, mother and grandmother. I like to describe myself as a Jewish spiritual creative (you will find much of the deep and somewhat wacky wisdom that I share has its roots in my Jewish culture). I am deep and wacky (always have been, always will be) and I love trees! During my daily forest walks, I have learnt to tune into the whispered wisdom trees impart – this has been the inspiration for my blog posts, titled A Blessing from the Trees, and my audio messages.

MY passion for storytelling has never diminished over the years, but now I am sharing the secrets of how I learned to listen to my soul’s calling and fulfill its vision of sharing my wisdom with the world.

It’s Time To Tell Your Story

Have you ever held back from telling your story—afraid of being judged, misunderstood, or seen as weak?

You’re not alone.

In this powerful conversation, Suzanne Oshima, Life Coach for Women Over 50 interviews Soul Story Coach Devorah Spilman, we dive deep into why so many women in midlife are hiding parts of their story—and how sharing those stories from a place of strength can become the key to healing, connection, and transformation.

You’ll discover why your story holds the power to move others, how to know when you’re ready to share it, and the importance of waiting until the pain becomes a scar—not an open wound. Because when you speak your truth from a place of wisdom, the right people will hear it and say, “Me too.”

And here’s the beautiful part—when you own your story and share it with others, you don’t just reclaim your power…

You also inspire and empower other women to rise, heal, and believe in what’s possible for them too.
